Overview
We're looking for a highly capable Technical Business Analyst to join a fast-moving, operationally heavy environment where technology and production intersect. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys getting into the detail of systems, data, and workflows while working closely with both business and engineering teams to deliver meaningful improvements. You'll play a key role in understanding complex processes, shaping technical solutions, and ensuring delivery teams are set up with clear, actionable requirements.
What You'll Be Doing
- Partner with stakeholders across operations, supply chain, IT, and commercial teams to capture and clarify requirements
- Analyse end-to-end workflows, identifying inefficiencies and opportunities for optimisation
- Translate business needs into structured, technical requirements suitable for development teams
- Create artefacts such as user stories, process diagrams, data mappings, and functional specifications
- Work closely with engineers to design solutions that are practical, scalable, and aligned to business goals
- Interrogate and manipulate data to support analysis, validation, and decision-making
- Validate delivered solutions through testing, troubleshooting, and continuous feedback
- Support system enhancements and integrations across core platforms (e.g. ERP, scheduling, inventory systems)
- Maintain high-quality documentation to support delivery, knowledge sharing, and future development
- Act as a key bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment throughout delivery
What We're Looking For
Core Skills- Strong experience as a Business Analyst in technically complex environments
- Advanced SQL skills, including writing and optimising queries
- Exposure to Python (or similar) for data manipulation is highly beneficial
- Solid understanding of databases, data structures, and system integrations
- Ability to break down complex problems and translate them into clear, structured requirements
- Proven background working in manufacturing, logistics, or similarly operational environments
- Experience working across full delivery lifecycles (SDLC), from discovery through to implementation
- Familiarity with APIs, data formats (e.g. JSON/XML), and integration concepts
- Experience with business process improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean or similar)
- Comfortable producing documentation such as BRDs, functional specs, and process flows
- Experience using tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, or Lucidchart
- Strong analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to problem solving
- Able to work independently, take ownership, and operate proactively in fast-paced environments
- Minimum 3 days per week onsite in Chippenham
- Close collaboration between technical and business teams is essential
- Quick decision-making and problem resolution are part of the day-to-day
- Confident communicator who can engage at all levels, including senior leadership
- Comfortable challenging assumptions and pushing back where needed
- Able to think on your feet and adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Pragmatic, delivery-focused, and solutions-oriented

- Experience with ERP or production-related systems
