The trust operates a centralised model, providing strategic leadership and shared services while empowering schools to focus on high-quality teaching and learning. Digital systems and IT services play a critical role in enabling this model, supporting curriculum delivery, safeguarding, compliance, and operational efficiency at scale. With significant pupil numbers, a broad geographic footprint and a mature governance structure, the trust places increasing emphasis on robust infrastructure, cyber security, and forward-looking digital strategy to support both current operations and future development.
Your new role involves reporting to the Regional IT Manager, where you will join the established team at the Walkden site, providing a high level of IT support to end users. Working as part of the central IT team, you will help maintain a secure, reliable and scalable cloud environment that supports teaching, learning and business operations across the Trust.
- Supporting the day-to-day operation of cloud platforms (primarily Microsoft 365 and Azure)
- Assisting with user management, identity and access, security controls and device integration
- Monitoring system performance and responding to incidents and service requests
- Supporting academies with cloud-related queries and technical issues
- Contributing to projects, upgrades and the ongoing development of Trust-wide cloud services
- Maintaining clear documentation and adhering to security and governance standards
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT Technician or IT Engineer to work for a forward-thinking organisation where there will be further opportunities for growth and development.
What you'll need to succeed: In order to be successful in securing this position, you will ideally have experience providing IT support in an educational setting, whether this be working for a school, college or a managed service provider supporting the sector. You will have a passion for providing a high level of IT service, working face-to-face with end users and promoting the use of technology in the classroom. Excellent communication and relationship building skills are required, as well as a proactive approach to IT support.
