The Role
As an Analytics Engineer, you'll play a key role in delivering clean, reliable, and well-modelled datasets that empower data scientists and business users across the organisation.
You'll work with modern data technologies such as Snowflake and Looker to develop and optimise SQL transformations, build scalable data models, and ensure data is well-documented and ready for analytics and reporting.
You'll collaborate closely with product engineering teams, data scientists, and other analytics engineers to shape source data, improve data modelling, and drive the adoption of Looker as a key data product across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain clean, scalable data models and datasets using SQL.
- Develop and optimise SQL-based data transformation and ELT/ETL processes.
- Work with Snowflake and other cloud-based data platforms to support business-critical analytics.
- Collaborate with data scientists, product engineering teams, and analytics engineers to meet downstream data requirements.
- Develop and optimise Looker datasets and dashboards to improve data accessibility and adoption.
- Ensure data quality, reliability, performance, and documentation across analytics datasets.
- Apply data modelling and warehousing best practices to deliver intuitive, denormalised, and aggregated datasets.
- Troubleshoot and optimise existing data pipelines and transformations to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Contribute to the continued development and adoption of Looker as a core data product across the business.
About You
You will be an Analytics Engineer with strong experience in SQL, data modelling, and cloud-based data platforms.
You'll have a solid understanding of data warehousing and ELT/ETL processes, with experience working with technologies such as Snowflake and Looker.
You'll enjoy solving complex data challenges, working closely with data scientists and engineering teams, and building clean, reliable datasets that enable better decision-making across the business.
Key requirements
- 6+ years' experience in Analytics Engineering, BI Engineering, or Data Engineering.
- Excellent hands-on SQL skills with strong data modelling and data warehousing knowledge.
- Proven experience working with cloud-based MPP data warehouses such as Snowflake, Big Query, or Redshift.
- 2+ years' experience with Looker or a similar BI tool.
- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data transformations, and pipeline dependencies.
- Practical experience with version control and data engineering best practices.
- Python experience, particularly for automation and integrations, is highly desirable.
- Experience with the Looker API and Ads domain would be advantageous.
