Lead Electronics Engineer in Rochdale

£40 to £60/hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)

Must be eligible for Security Clearance

A global manufacturer of electronic components is seeking an experienced Lead/Principal Power Electronics Engineer to take technical ownership of complex power conversion and power management products across aerospace, land and maritime platforms.

What the Role Entails

• Technical ownership of power converter and power management designs from concept through to qualification
• Leading electrical design activities including schematics, PCB layout, modelling and simulations
• Supporting bid and proposal activity, including technical input, cost estimates and compliance responses
• Defining and supporting test plans, qualification and design assurance, including failure investigations
• Mentoring engineers and working closely with engineering leadership on new technologies and improvements

Key Requirements (max 5)

• Strong experience designing power converters / power management systems (100W-10kW)
• Expertise in DC/DC, AC/DC, inverters or motor drives within aerospace, defence or automotive environments
• PCB schematic & layout experience (Altium preferred) and solid EMC/EMI knowledge
• Experience across the full product lifecycle, including testing, qualification and failure investigation
• Eligible for UK Security Clearance
