Β£40 to Β£60/hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)

A global manufacturer of electronic components is seeking an experienced Lead/Principal Power Electronics Engineer to take technical ownership of complex power conversion and power management products across aerospace, land and maritime platforms.
What the Role Entails
- Technical ownership of power converter and power management designs from concept through to qualification
- Leading electrical design activities including schematics, PCB layout, modelling and simulations
- Supporting bid and proposal activity, including technical input, cost estimates and compliance responses
- Defining and supporting test plans, qualification and design assurance, including failure investigations
- Mentoring engineers and working closely with engineering leadership on new technologies and improvements
Key Requirements (max 5)
- Strong experience designing power converters / power management systems (100W-10kW)
- Expertise in DC/DC, AC/DC, inverters or motor drives within aerospace, defence or automotive environments
- PCB schematic & layout experience (Altium preferred) and solid EMC/EMI knowledge
- Experience across the full product lifecycle, including testing, qualification and failure investigation
- Eligible for UK Security Clearance
