A major industrial manufacturing site is looking to appoint an experienced EC&I Engineer to support operations, capital projects, and long-term site reliability within a top-tier COMAH environment. This is a senior, hands-on role with real influence over safety, standards, and engineering decisions on site.

The Role

You will act as the EC&I technical authority on site, covering electrical systems, control systems, and instrumentation. The role spans projects, maintenance, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acting as the EC&I Subject Matter Expert across the site
  • Leading and supporting EC&I projects from concept to commissioning
  • Supporting maintenance teams with fault-finding, upgrades, and reliability improvements
  • Owning EC&I standards including ATEX, DSEAR, SIL, functional safety
  • Managing and maintaining SIS in line with IEC 61508 / 61511
  • Supporting COMAH activities including audits, HAZOPs, LOPAs, and inspections
  • Managing EC&I contractors and project budgets (up to £150k)
  • Driving continuous improvement in safety, performance, and cost

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree-qualified in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineering (or similar)
  • 5-10 years’ EC&I experience in a high-hazard industrial environment
  • Strong COMAH, ATEX, and DSEAR exposure
  • Experience with PLC / DCS, field instrumentation, and functional safety systems
  • Confident working with contractors and multidisciplinary site teams
  • CEng status desirable or working towards
