Dr Jonathan West is Associate Professor in Biomedical Microfluidics. Research focuses on clinical translation and technology commercialization to benefit patient care. Dr. West has patented a microfluidic method for understanding platelet activity with potential to predict thrombosis, heart attack, and stroke risk. These technologies are poised for commercialization for clinical impact.

The Role

The position involves using an advanced microfluidic technology to monitor the platelets of patients with sepsis or severe respiratory infection. The research entails working with partners at University Hospital Southampton and commercial collaborators who provide comprehensive flow cytometry data sets to benchmark the microfluidic technology.
