We’re looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Coordinating Centre. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape how we use data to improve health and social care research.

What will you be doing?
As a Business Intelligence Analyst Within Our Insight Team, You’ll Support The Collection, Analysis, And Communication Of Data To Inform NIHR’s Strategy, Policy, And Operations. You’ll Also Help Enhance The Team’s Four Core Services
Data Service – Supporting data-driven decision-making
Information Request Service – Responding to urgent and routine data queries
Portfolio Analysis Service – Identifying research trends and gaps
Research & Evaluation Service – Evaluating the impact of NIHR-funded research
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Engaging with stakeholders to refine data requirements and define project scopes
  • Responding to data requests, providing accurate and timely reports
  • Managing a range of insight projects, ensuring they deliver value and impact
  • Improving processes by identifying and addressing inefficiencies

Who are we looking for?
Skills
We’re looking for an analytical thinker with strong data management skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Essential qualities include:

  • Experience in managing and analysing data, with the ability to interpret findings effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data cleaning and analysis
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to independently organise and prioritise work
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of building strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to identify trends and insights, supporting evidence-based decision-making

Desirable experience includes knowledge of data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
