About the Role:

The OT Security Engineer plays a vital role in strengthening the security posture of industrial control and automation environments. By applying OT domain knowledge and hands‐on security control experience, the role helps safeguard critical operational systems against cyber threats, reduces risk of disruption, and ensures compliance with security frameworks. Effective performance in this role supports safe, reliable, and resilient OT operations, enabling the organisation to maintain continuity, protect essential assets, and meet regulatory and safety obligations.

  • Support the implementation, testing, and deployment of security controls across Operational Technology (OT) environments, ensuring alignment with industry standards (e.g., ISA/IEC 62443) and organisational security policies.
  • Conduct security assessments on OT systems, networks, and assets to identify vulnerabilities, configuration issues, and improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining secure architectures and configurations for industrial systems, including PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, and associated networks.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot OT security tooling and technologies, ensuring they operate effectively and integrate seamlessly with operational processes.
  • Support incident response activities within OT environments, including containment, evidence gathering, and remediation support.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of OT security documentation, including diagrams, standards, procedures, and control implementations.
  • Work collaboratively with operations, engineering, and cyber teams to ensure security measures are practical, safe, and aligned with operational requirements.

Optional GICSP / ISA 62443 OT background. Experience of testing and deployment of security controls.
