As part of our ambitious growth plans, we have a new opportunity for an experienced underwriter or broker, who specialises in the field of cyber, to join our rapidly growing Aviva Global Corporate and Specialty (GCS) Cyber underwriting team. This would be a great job for someone who has gained excellent exposure recently to underwriting cyber insurance and who has a strong network within the London Insurance market.
A bit about the job:
We are expanding our cyber and technology PI insurance offering in the Corporate and International space, and we are looking for an experienced Underwriter or Senior Underwriter to play a key role in driving this expansion in line with Aviva’s ambition to be a leading provider of cyber insurance.
Within this role, you will be responsible for underwriting predominantly new business across both Company and Lloyds capacity in line with GCS and Probitas strategy, and in line with agreed delegated underwriting authority limits. You will be confident when conversing with stakeholders both internally and externally to deliver business objectives.
You will be integral to the strategic direction of this portfolio’s development. The role shall include liaising regularly with a panel of brokers, ensuring that strong working relationships are formed; undertaking relevant underwriting tasks; and assisting the Head of Cyber with product development, ensuring rapid growth and success for this specialised area of underwriting.
You will also take part (in conjunction with the London Market Cyber U/W Manager and Head of Cyber) in the training, education and development of team members.
Aviva introduced “smart-working” in 2020 and encourage flexible working; however, the successful post-holder will need to be based a commutable distance from our London offices, with an expectation of three days per week in the office.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- In depth knowledge of Cyber and / or Tech PI coverages
- Competent in the structuring and placement of complex insurance programmes and tailored wordings for niche and larger risks
- Excellent network knowledge of the London Broker market, matched with confident communication and relationship management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as you will have to work within a close-knit team
- Cyber-specific qualifications (e.g. CISMP, CISSP, etc) are a bonus
