The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced

Subsea Services Manager to oversee and lead our Assembly & Test and Machine Shop facilities in Stonehaven.

Based in

Stonehaven , you will hold overall responsibility for onshore and offshore operations, ensuring all client requirements are delivered safely, on time, to high quality, and within budget.

Reporting to the General Manager – UK, you will drive operational productivity, champion safety leadership, manage equipment assets, and nurture key client relationships.

Additionally, this role offers the strategic opportunity to help diversify our footprint beyond traditional Oil & Gas into broader energy sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operational activities across Assembly & Test and Machine Shop facilities.

Drive productivity, utilisation, and operational performance while contributing to annual budgets, business plans, and growth strategies.

  • Maximise performance, maintenance, and readiness of operational assets, rental subsea equipment, and inventory.

Recommend capital expenditures and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Champion a proactive safety culture, ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and company standards. Lead incident investigations and serve as a visible safety leader.
  • Support tenders, proposals, pricing, and contract negotiations.

Partner with Business Development to strengthen the pipeline, expand client relationships, and identify new market opportunities/diversification paths.

  • Build organizational capability through succession planning and skills development.

Qualifications

  • HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, time-served in an appropriate trade, OR equivalent relevant industry experience where safety, attitude, and quality are paramount.
  • Relevant experience where safety, attitude and quality of work is without question
  • 8–10 years of subsea and surface oil & gas industry experience, specifically focusing on Life of Field and Decommissioning.
  • 5+ years in a management or supervisory role leading operational/workshop teams.
  • Strong technical expertise with subsea equipment, including subsea trees, tubing hangers, tree caps, and running tools.
  • Proven commercial acumen, including experience with budgets, tendering, cost control, and operational pricing.
  • Established UK client relationships with key operators (e. g., Neo Next+, Harbour, CNR, Well Safe Solutions).
  • Demonstrated safety leadership with the ability to place safety above all other requirements
  • Ability to interpret requirements independently and deliver with high autonomy.
  • Excellent scheduling, task prioritisation, and critical/lateral thinking skills.
  • High level of self-awareness with strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across UK business units and external clients.
  • Demonstrates sound moral, ethical, and professional principles.
