Our City and national client has a strong reputation across all areas of the energy market, but a particular focus on renewables; from significant wind farm projects through to solar, tidal and EV infrastructure. With a well-established reputation in the area and some stellar clients, the team are now looking for an additional property partner with experience of real estate deals within the sector. This hire is in response to significant client demand and great confidence in the longevity and increasing importance of the renewables sector.

Transactions include preliminary real estate due diligence, site acquisition and handling the property aspects of significant ongoing projects. You will be joining a team which ranks highly in all the directories and, importantly, has the necessary infrastructure in place in terms of support departments for this type of work (planning, regulatory, disputes and others). The team cover all geographies; however, at present, the preference is to meet partners with a stronger focus on the domestic UK market.

The renewables team make an impressive contribution to overall firm revenues and the sector is core to the firm’s strategy. The real estate team overall is the most significant part of the firm. So, you will find a practice which not only has a well-deserved external profile but also plenty of internal support with a mandate for continued growth.

The partners would be happy to talk to lawyers with 100% renewables experience but also those with exposure to other areas of the commercial property market provided they can show a desire to focus more fully on clean energy. In either event, it is important that you understand the sector, ideally have a profile or developing profile for this type of work and also an existing network of clients, referrers and contacts.

The firm is profitable and with growing turnover. On the back of another successful year, the team wants to make additional investments at the partner level in order to further its market coverage. You will find a vibrant and energetic group with outstanding leadership, well supported and ambitious for the development of the practice.
