Our law firm client has a long-standing presence in the technology, healthcare, and pharma sectors. The firm has been exceptionally busy across all its transactional teams, especially within a corporate department that has long focused on private equity and VC work in the mid-market.
The team is now looking for an additional PE partner in London, likely with an existing network of contacts (corporates, referrers, or funds) and someone who wants to help drive this practice area forward with a degree of autonomy.
Existing partners within this team are all highly regarded and ranked in the directories. Overall, the department has a loyal client base which continues to grow and prosper. It is important that you understand and enjoy the nature and culture of these types of clients, the requirements they have of their external counsel, and the level of advice required on a day-to-day basis.
The partners will consider a range of candidates; existing partners, those on the cusp of partnership who are being frustrated by bottlenecks, and potentially senior lawyers returning to private practice from in-house (a fund or similar). Cultural fit will be crucial, along with a realistic business plan.
With a super brand and affable, committed partners, this opportunity represents a great, established platform for those looking to make a long-term lateral move and be part of what is already an impressive growth story. The firm is stable, profitable, and has strong retention rates.
