Our long standing law firm client is looking to hire a Banking Partner to pick up internal work and develop the practice. This could be an opportunity for a current senior associate at 10+ PQE to take on their first partner position.

The firm is directory rated in the South East with particular strength in real estate finance, corporate lending and asset-based lending. The banking work is currently overseen by a corporate partner who is looking for a junior partner to pick up banking work and develop the area.

This is a long standing client of ours so please call for full details but in brief:

  • Clear career progression path; the firm is looking for someone with the skills to hire and develop associates and lead the banking and finance function with the support of very established specialists and a skilled team.
  • Existing relationships in place with banks, asset-based lenders, alternative lenders and borrower clients, and work coming through to pass on.
  • An appetite internally for banking to work closely with established real estate, private wealth and corporate departments and to cross-sell with these areas to generate further banking mandates.
  • Reputation for ESG/green finance work, and the firm is well placed to develop this further.
  • High-performing junior partners have a clear path to full equity.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced banking and finance lawyer, probably with a broad range of expertise that will include general debt finance and corporate lending for lender and borrower clients. You will also have established relationships to develop in your new position, and the ambition to take on a leadership role.

This role will likely be London based but the firm also has presence in the southern home counties so please get in touch to discuss further if that appeals to you.
