Our client is a prestigious London-based corporate firm with an excellent reputation, high profile global clients and superior quality work. The Risk & Compliance team has grown in recent years, and we are now seeking a Head of Risk to support the Director of Risk and have oversight of a range of legal and regulatory risk.
You will be responsible for three risk advisors and will work alongside the Head of Business Acceptance to provide a joined-up approach to risk management for the firm. The role will entail reviewing and updating the firm’s risk strategy, systems and controls. Provide support, training and development to the team and to fee-earners across the business, deputising for the Director of Risk (when needed) and support the Partners and management team.
The remit of the role will include, but not limited to:
- SRA regulation
- Accounting issues
- Data protection
- Third party suppliers
- Audit and complaints
We are seeking a highly skilled qualified solicitor to take on this role. You must have at least 10 years’ PQE, ideally with a number of these gained in a risk and compliance function. However, we may consider lawyers with directly relevant fee-earning experience. It is essential that you can demonstrate day-to-day working knowledge of the SRA and risk issues facing law firms currently.
PLEASE NOTE we can only consider applications from individuals who are legally qualified and have worked in law firm risk and compliance. The successful candidate must be pragmatic and have a commercial approach to risk. It will require an individual who has strong communication skills, is proactive and can demonstrate a desire to problem solve. You must be able to multi-task, set your own deadlines and priorities and have a client-oriented approach to issues.
This is a fantastic leadership opportunity within a high-quality law firm which seeks to train and retrain its talent. The firm offers a challenging and supportive environment and ensures everyone thrives.
