Our client, a leading UK firm, has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced law firm risk and compliance professional.
Reporting to the firm’s General Counsel, who is also a partner and the firm’s COLP and MLCO, you will play a leading role in the development and implementation of our client’s risk and compliance strategy.
Working as part of a team of seven people, you will be taking up the role of MLRO with responsibility for leading and developing a programme to deliver risk & compliance projects across the firm. You will be actively involved with the leadership of the firm and in important decisions about the risks facing the firm.
Liaising with the senior leadership team and colleagues, key responsibilities of the role will include:
- Line management and oversight of the risk & compliance team
- Providing support to the COLP and COFA on SRA compliance and conflicts issues
- Working to improve onboarding and compliance processes
- Delivering training
- Contributing to the firm’s risk management processes
Our client is looking for someone with experience of law firm risk and compliance gained with a leading law firm or other professional services business in its legal practice. It is important that you have experience and understanding of the current SRA regulatory regime.
They are also looking for someone with the personality and credibility, who has the confidence to make commercial decisions, the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels across the firm, and to lead, motivate, and develop the risk and compliance team. This role would suit someone who is currently a head of risk & compliance looking for a new challenge or someone at manager level looking to take a step up.
