Our client is a Top 40 international law which has been enjoying impressive growth in revenue, headcount and international expansion in recent times; it has future plans to continue this trajectory.
We are working with the Managing Partner and the senior leadership team on the appointment of a new General Counsel to lead the legal, risk and compliance function. The GC well be a member of the Group Executive and the principal adviser to the group, the Board and the wider partnership on legal, governance, risk, compliance and reputational risks across all jurisdictions.
Reporting to the Managing Partner, you will lead and manage the Office of General Counsel and as the firm continues to grow, you will also support the Executive and the Managing Partner with identifying new offices and opening them up in accordance with all local legal and regulatory requirements.
As General Counsel you will also be the firm's COLP, MLRO and MLCO and have oversight of those holding equivalent roles in all jurisdictions in which the firm operates.
Our client is looking for someone who has previously been a general counsel or deputy general counsel, at a large UK or international law firm and has experience of managing a substantial team. International experience is also highly desirable. You must have the presence and gravitas to fulfil the role of trusted advisor to the firm and senior leaders and have the experience, personality and people skills needed to manage an established team and to work effectively with colleagues at all levels across the firm.
