The corporate department of our boutique law firm client makes a significant contribution to the firm in terms of headcount, turnover, and profile. The partners are generally focused on the small to mid-cap segment of the market, which is an area that remains busy, with plenty of transactional activity. The team now wish to add a further corporate partner to the department with a track record of winning business and a strong generalist skill set.
There is a thriving community of well-regarded corporate lawyers at this firm, and you will be joining a busy and entrepreneurial group with the expertise/support to advise on most mainstream transactions across M&A, ECM, and PE/VC. Incoming partners should ideally be able to bring some of their own business connections and have a well-thought-out plan around developing business on this sort of platform. However, there is no requirement for a significant “book.”
Private company M&A experience is going to be important here, but the partners are confident that they can support those with a broader practice, given the opportunities in this market.
The firm is very profitable and can offer impressive levels of compensation for the right individual, along with a quick route to equity. Corporate work is right at the center of its overall offering and is ably supported by other departments. The partners are driven by a commercial approach to winning work and are looking for those with a similar attitude to business development.
