A major UK infrastructure and engineering business is seeking a Divisional Financial Controller to support one of its high-performing business units. This is a pivotal role for a commercially minded finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced project environment and enjoys partnering with operational teams. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insight, oversight, and challenge across financial performance, forecasting, project accounting, and cash management. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver accurate, timely financial reporting and analysis to support operational and commercial decision-making.
  • Own day-to-day financial management for the business unit, ensuring integrity of accounting data and compliance with group policies.
  • Lead project accounting activities, coaching non-finance colleagues to enhance financial understanding and control.
  • Produce monthly/quarterly performance reports, KPI analysis, and variance insights.
  • Support annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles.
  • Drive strong cash management including invoicing, credit control, and supplier payment discipline.
  • Coordinate internal controls, audit requirements, and month-end processes.

  • Excellent Excel and general IT skills (SAP desirable).
  • Highly organised, detail-focused, and proactive.
