Laboratory Shift Technician
Location: Darlington
Salary: £29,800
CY Partners are seeking a Laboratory Shift Technician to join an analytical focused laboratory in Darlington. You will play a vital role in ensuring marine fuels meet ISO specifications and regulatory standards, contributing directly to environmental protection and safe operations worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and test marine fuel samples using standardised methods
- Analyse properties such as viscosity, density, sulphur content and metal content
- Operate advanced equipment (e.g., GC-MS, ICP-OES, Karl Fischer)
- Ensure compliance with ISO 17025 quality and safety standards
- Collaborate effectively and communicate results clearly
Requirements
- BSc in Chemistry (or similar) or previous industry experience.
- Ability to work well independently.
- Comfortable handling large volumes of samples.
- Experience with wet chemistry techniques is desirable .
Shift Pattern: Monday–Friday (rotating shifts: 09:00–17:00, 10:00–18:00, 12:00–20:00)
18 Saturdays per year (09:00–17:00)
