Interim Head of Finance
CY Executive Resourcing are working closely with a Public Sector organisation based near Canary Wharf, London, who require an Interim Head of Finance for up to 12 months.
This is a Hybrid role with an interesting and broad remit that will see you work closely with the Director of Finance and lead a talented finance team during an exciting time for the organisation due to a new system implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Leading and developing a high-performing team, collaborating with other teams and directorates to achieve shared objectives.
- Collaborating with colleagues across departments to ensure that system and business changes comply with relevant accounting standards and government best practices, ensuring ongoing adherence to statutory obligations.
- Leading the preparation of the annual report and accounts, managing audit processes, and handling day-to-day financial operations, such as cash flow management.
- Managing external financial reporting to HM Treasury and the Cabinet Office.
- Offering expert advice on complex financial matters, including budgeting and accounting issues, to senior stakeholders.
- Ensuring effective management and accounting of public funds, establishing strong financial planning and internal control processes.
- Promoting excellent financial management across the organisation, regularly assessing financial performance and providing support and constructive challenge.
- Preparing and delivering high-level financial reports to the Executive Committee and Board, facilitating departmental decision-making and priority setting.
- Providing leadership and acting as a deputy to the Director of Finance and Operations as required.
This position ideally requires an ACA/ACCA/CIMA or CIPFA qualification with relevant, senior experience within the Public Sector.
