Our client is seeking an organised and proactive HR Administrator to join their busy HR team on a maternity cover contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator or aspiring HR professional to gain broad exposure across the full employee lifecycle within a supportive and fast-paced business environment.

Reporting into the senior leadership team, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a professional HR service, supporting both employees and line managers with a range of people-related processes and administrative activities.

The Role

As HR Administrator, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive HR administrative support and ensuring the smooth delivery of HR processes across the business.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Managing HR administration and maintaining accurate employee records and documentation.
  • Coordinating recruitment administration, including references, right-to-work verification and pre-employment checks.
  • Managing the onboarding process from offer stage through to induction.
  • Supporting recruitment campaigns, including interview coordination and candidate communications.
  • Administering employee leaver processes and conducting exit interviews where appropriate.
  • Maintaining HR systems and ensuring the accuracy of employee data.
  • Managing absence and holiday records.
  • Supporting probationary reviews and performance management processes.
  • Liaising with payroll to ensure timely and accurate employee information.
  • Coordinating training activities and maintaining training records.
  • Assisting with HR projects, policy updates and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supporting employee relations matters, including disciplinary and grievance processes.
  • Producing HR reports and management information as required.
  • Occasional travel to additional business locations where necessary.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in an administrative role, ideally within an HR function.
  • Experience working with HR or employee data systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a small team.
  • High levels of discretion and an understanding of confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics.
  • CIPD qualification, or currently studying towards CIPD, would be advantageous but is not essential.
