Transport Operator in Warrington

We’re looking for an organised, proactive Transport Operator to help keep our collection and delivery operation running smoothly. Working within the transport team, you’ll coordinate drivers, vehicles and loads to deliver an efficient, cost-effective service for our customers.

What you’ll be doing

• Planning collection and delivery schedules to meet customer requirements.
• Allocating drivers, vehicles, trailers, loads and backloads efficiently.
• Coordinating staffing requirements, including agency cover.
• Monitoring drivers’ hours, checking records and authorising weekly timesheets.
• Communicating with drivers, customers, warehouse teams and workshops.
• Completing driver debriefs, reviewing manifests and updating transport systems.
• Responding to operational delays and solving day-to-day transport challenges.
• Supporting continuous improvement, customer KPIs and safe working practices.

What we’re looking for

• Relevant experience in transport operations, haulage or logistics.
• Knowledge of drivers’ hours, tachograph requirements and transport regulations.
• Experience using transport operating systems and good general IT skills.
• Strong geographical knowledge and an organised approach to planning.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams.
• Good numeracy, attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills.
• GCSEs in English and Maths at grades A–C, or equivalent.
• A logistics qualification would be an advantage.
