We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Production Operative/Welder to join our team. You will be responsible for assisting in various warehouse tasks in our concrete pouring sheds, operating both power and hand tools as well as welding steel.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welding of steel reinforcement cages
- Able to read drawing and make steel reinforced cages to a high standard
- Stripping out freestanding moulds and handling steel reinforcement cages
- Assembling and cleaning precast moulds
- Pouring concrete and finishing units to a high standard
- Cutting and bending reinforcing steel to be used in the production of concrete products
- Operating power tools and hand tools
- Working as a team to meet production standards and deadlines
- Monitoring situations to adjust and maintain quality
- Undertaking basic maintenance and regular equipment checks within the factories
- Performing housekeeping duties to ensure a safe, clean, and tidy working environment
- Undertaking any relevant training in line with own personal development needs and business requirements
- Complying with the company’s policies & procedures and Health & Safety regulations
- Assisting with additional duties when required
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Previous experience in a warehouse or production environment preferred, but not essential. Training will be provided
- Familiarity with power tools and hand tools
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions and drawings, desirable
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions
