Overview
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated staff nurse to join our friendly, busy team. The successful applicant will be based in the Women’s Health Unit in the Royal Glamorgan Hospital and may be required to work at other sites within CTMUHB as needed. After a period of training and completion of core competencies, the post holder will undertake delegated duties with supervision and mentorship. The role involves cross-site working within CTMUHB.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. While Welsh language skills are not essential, being able to Speak & Listen at Level 3 (CEFR B2) is advantageous for shortlisting. Level 3 indicates basic conversations with patients about everyday health.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the provision of high quality and comprehensive Women’s, Integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health services as part of the multidisciplinary team, within the Colposcopy/Hysteroscopy Unit.
- Work at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital and Prince Charles Hospital as required; may be needed to work in other areas within the service (e.g., EPAU/GDAU).
- Assist in acquiring additional skills necessary to function as an independent practitioner.
- Act within established parameters; work is managed rather than supervised, and you will refer to supervisory management as appropriate.
- Manage resources in the absence of senior staff and ensure resources are used effectively.
- Maintain the standards of client care as set by the department.
- Ensure practice aligns with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and is based on evidence-based practice.
- Ensure personal and professional development plans reflect NMC and PREP requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and able to practice in the UK.
- Willingness to work across CTMUHB sites and in line with professional guidelines.
- Desirable Welsh language skills at Speaking & Listening Level 3 (CEFR B2) or above.
