Are you an experienced mental health nurse ready to lead at scale in a complex, rewarding system? Can you hold the line on quality and safety while building a culture where multi-disciplinary teams thrive and patients remain at the centre of care?
We are seeking a Care Group Nurse Director for Mental Health and Learning Disabilities (MHLD) to join our senior leadership team at Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB. This is a key leadership role for an aspirant Executive Nurse. You will be the most senior mental health nursing leader within the Care Group, building on a strong foundation created by our retiring post holder, widely recognised across Wales for their contribution to the profession.
The MHLD Care Group is comparable in size and complexity to a standalone Mental Health Trust. We deliver a wide range of all-age mental health and learning disability services across a large, varied geography. You will provide visible, strategic and professional leadership for nursing and the wider quality agenda, working as part of a close-knit, supportive senior team that includes the Service Director, Care Group Medical Director and Clinical Director of Psychologies.
We’re looking for a mental health-qualified nurse with substantial senior leadership experience, a strong track record in quality, safety and patient experience, and a genuine commitment to multi-disciplinary working and cultural improvement, with the ability to maintain visible, accessible leadership across a multi-site service.
This is your opportunity to shape nursing across MHLD Care Group and lead strategically for a designated locality. You’ll drive quality, safety and patient experience, working collaboratively with medical, psychological and operational colleagues to deliver a whole-system approach. Leading a data-driven quality management system, championing continuous improvement and learning from incidents and reviews.
You’ll shape workforce strategy, redesigning roles, developing career pathways and prioritising staff wellbeing, while ensuring robust clinical governance and compliance. As part of the senior team, you’ll influence financial planning, performance, digital transformation and strategic priorities, building strong partnerships.
We offer a relocation support package.
