We are seeking an exceptional and motivated senior nurse to join our Health Protection Operational Service at a pivotal moment of innovation and development. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to provide strategic leadership, drive high standards of clinical practice, and help shape the future direction of an inclusive and responsive service.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the professional leadership, direction, management and governance of the Health Protection Operational Clinical Team including the specialist immunisation team within Cwm Taf Morgannwg.
  • Support the Senior Management Team to ensure the highest standard of nursing care is provided, monitored, and evaluated within the areas of Health Protection and Vaccination.
  • Work collaboratively with the clinical leads, specialist immunisation team, Public Health Wales, Service Manager, and administrative team in the planning, coordination and delivery of vaccine and testing programmes.
  • Interpret national and health board policies and procedures and advise on their implementation for the Health Protection Operational Team.
  • Be guided by professional, organisational policies and codes of conduct and be responsible for their implementation in the service.
  • Support processes and audits to monitor the quality of care, clinical practices, incidents/claims, and professional registration.
  • Undertake investigations of clinical incidents, complaints and professional issues following University Health Board Policy and act upon findings/recommendations.
  • Work in a highly flexible manner to respond to changing clinical priorities; may require working weekends and bank holidays to provide 7‑day service when needed.
