An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Radiographer to join our dedicated team of CT and general X-ray radiographers providing high quality imaging services. The CT department has two GE Revolution CT scanners and two Siemens Aera 1.5T MRI scanners, forming the Diagnostic Hub which plays a significant role in early diagnostics and ambulatory care within the Health Board.
Responsibilities
- Work as a Senior Radiographer providing care for patients attending the CT and General X-Ray departments.
- Work without direct supervision while reporting to the Senior/Superintendent Radiographers within the Department.
- Participate in the department’s shift roster, which provides a 24‑hour service to stakeholders.
- Act as a practitioner for plain‑film referrals and for specified CT examinations in accordance with IR(ME)R 2017.
- Develop skills in IV cannulation, image appreciation and the role of a CT practitioner as per local protocol.
- Assume responsibility for liaising with staff across the Health Board and providing help and instruction to other members of staff within the department.
- Engage in departmental audits and contribute to the Clinical Audit process.
Qualifications
- Current qualification and experience as a radiographer, with sound knowledge of CT imaging.
- Excellent team‑working and communication skills.
- Understanding of the Clinical Audit process.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Eligibility to act as a practitioner under IR(ME)R 2017 (or willingness to complete appropriate training and assessment).
