Location: Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend or Princes Charles Hospital, Merthyr Tydfil.
Level: IM3 or ST4+
Eligibility: Completion of Core Medical Training or Years 1-2 of Internal Medicine training.
Job Responsibilities:
- Cover wards, outpatients, speciality referrals and ward rounds.
- Stand general medical on-call duties.
- Participate in the on-call rota.
- Support and mentor junior team members (FY1, FY2, IMT, ACCS, SpR, nurse practitioners, AHPs).
- Manage patient care, partake in decision-making and joint management plans.
- Contribute to and develop evidence-based guidelines, ensuring they are signed, dated and reviewed bi-annually or more frequently with new evidence.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, patient and family to provide appropriate care models.
- Assist in the production and review of referenced, evidence-based guidelines.
- Support the delivery of high-quality service within departmental policies and procedures.
Person Specification:
Experience:
- Completion of Core Medical Training, IMT training or equivalent.
- Completion of IMT1-2 or evidence of Certificate of CMT competencies.
- Substantive SpR or senior SHO experience in General Medicine in the UK.
Knowledge:
- Familiarity with the NHS system in the UK.
- Experience as a middle-grade doctor in the UK.
Qualifications:
- Full registration with the GMC.
- MBBS.
- Advanced Life Support Certification.
