Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to the Primary Care Team, including managing diaries, emails and composing routine letters, memos.
  • Provide quality administrative and secretarial support to a range of Primary Care Services using available technology.
  • Plan and prioritise workload, re‑adjust meeting arrangements, handle conflicting diary appointments, and make alternative plans for the Primary Care Team.
  • Act as first point of contact for salaried staff, independent contractors and patients regarding queries about Primary Care Services.
  • Liaise with members of the public and handle potentially sensitive information concerning patient queries, taking tact especially with elderly patients.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating team training programmes and rotas, ensuring distribution to line managers.

Qualifications and Knowledge

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent level of knowledge and experience.
  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent.
  • Fully conversant with all Microsoft Office software.
  • Knowledge of office procedures and confidentiality.
  • Clear understanding of Health & Safety Regulations and policies.
  • Knowledge of Primary Care.

Experience

  • Previous NHS experience.
  • Knowledge of office practices and ability to establish new processes.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Experience working in Primary Care environments.

Other Requirements

  • Must be able to travel to UHB community sites in a timely manner.
  • Light physical duties.
