Applications are invited from HCPC Registered Podiatrists with relevant experience who wish to enhance their career in leadership within the Podiatry Profession. The MSK Podiatry Clinical Lead is a valued member of the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB) Podiatry and Orthotics Services leadership Team. The role is pivotal to strengthen the team during transformational change.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational and professional leadership to the MSK Services team, ensuring delivery of an equitable service.
  • Identify needs and evaluate priorities to embed performance management in line with Governance, MSK Standards, Prudent and Value Based Healthcare Principles.
  • Oversee service scope covering Rhondda & Taff Ely CBC, Merthyr Cynon CBC and, in future, Bridgend CBC.
  • Work closely with the Clinical Lead in Orthotics to support the development and delivery of the service for users requiring seamless care across both professions.
  • Accountable for the delivery of the CTMUHB‑wide Musculoskeletal service, identify podiatric needs within the CTMUHB population, and plan approaches to meet those needs.
  • Hold responsibility for performance of the MSK service and workforce development, conveying strategic and operational information to the MSK workforce.
  • Lead projects, clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives for the Musculoskeletal service.
  • Project‑manage tasks in collaboration with the Podiatric & Orthotic Services Manager, delegating appropriately to MSK team clinicians.
  • Act as the public‑facing representative for CTMUHB Podiatry Musculoskeletal Services, negotiating, persuading, motivating and providing information to the general public, partners, stakeholders and service users.

Qualifications & Preferences

  • HCPC Registered Podiatrist.
  • Relevant experience in leadership within the podiatry profession.
  • Welsh language skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above are desirable.
