Act as the specialist for the Vascular lead speciality within CTMUHB, working with Radiologists to identify, lead and evaluate the implementation of new and best practice. Achieve this through developing relationships with internal and external representatives and bodies.

Develop the CTMUHB Vascular US service to ensure it complies with national and CTMUHB policies and strategies and current relevant legislation. This will include setting and auditing standards and agreeing and implementing standard operating procedures across CTMUHB. This activity will be overseen by the Clinical Director and Professional Head of Radiography.

The post holder will also have overall responsibility for the management of the Vascular US service Radiology CTMUHB. This will include managing the budget for that service, and delivery of local access and activity targets and local clinical governance. The post holder will be a senior member of staff within Radiology and will contribute to the success of the US service as a whole, undertaking CTMUHB wide activities as and when required.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Vascular Ultrasound (US) service within Radiology CTMUHB.
  • Lead the development of the CTMUHB Vascular US service, ensuring compliance with policies and legislation.
  • Set and audit standards and implement SOPs across CTMUHB.
  • Manage the service budget and deliver local access and activity targets.
  • Ensure service is safe, efficient, cost-effective and meets operational performance targets, including governance, staff competence, access, activity and finance.
  • Lead sonographer training across the three acute sites.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the US service and undertake CTMUHB‑wide activities as required.

Eligibility and Qualifications

  • Final year STP student or trainee toward SVT accreditation, progressing to the substantive post upon HCPC registration or SVT AVS accreditation.
  • Welsh language skills desirable: speaking and listening at Level 3 (CEFR B2) or above.
