This is an exciting opportunity to undertake an operational management role as a secondment only. You will oversee a range of new and existing projects to improve the lives of children and people living with a mental health diagnosis. Developing service proposals, financial and budget monitoring are essential in this fast‑paced environment and expanding area of dietetics. The post is based at Royal Glamorgan Hospital, supports a health board‑wide service, and offers opportunities for working from home. It is a 12‑month secondment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage day‑to‑day operations and professionals of a designated paediatric and mental health service across the three localities in the health board.
  • Work closely with the Deputy Head of Dietetics, the wider Dietetic Management Team, public health, multi‑disciplinary teams, finance colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure the team supports and delivers a quality and outcome‑focused dietetic service for the health board population, meeting performance and financial targets.
  • Support dietetic service developments strategically.
  • Collaborate with secondary care services, primary care services, local authority and public health to evaluate the service in line with local and national performance measures.
  • Communicate complex clinical and policy information to managers, clients and identified trainers in an understandable form.
  • Empower and support staff to improve themselves and the specialist area within their scope of practice; ensure appropriate professional supervision arrangements.
  • Deliver a safe, effective and accessible service for the population of Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in managing paediatric and/or mental health dietetic services.
  • Strong service‑proposal development, financial and budget monitoring skills.
  • Ability to work strategically and operationally in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting complex information to managers and stakeholders.
  • Desirable: Ability to speak Welsh; Welsh and/or English speakers are welcomed.
