An opportunity has arisen within the acute Paediatric Wards/Children's Outpatient Department at the Princess of Wales Hospital. We are looking for Registered Children's Nurses who are well motivated with good communication skills and a willingness to put the ongoing care of children and their families first. We are looking for a passionate flexible team player to work in our friendly professional acute Paediatric Ward and Children's Outpatient Department, a person who has an interest in expanding their knowledge base. You would be joining a team of dedicated children's nurses who will provide you with all the support you will need.
Main duties of the job
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.

Job responsibilities

The Health Board currently operates a number of different shift systems. The most common are a 12.5 hour shift, inclusive of either one 30 minute or two 30-minute unpaid breaks. These shift patterns are subject to review and the Health Board reserves the right to change working arrangements. CTM is a Health Board committed to meaningful consultation with staff and to making balanced decisions that consider all aspects of our service and workforce.
Person Specification
Qualifications and/or Knowledge
- Registered nurse child branch with current NMC registration
- EPLS/PILS and IV trained
Experience
- Clinical Experience of working within acute setting.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Undertaken audits, PADR's and quality improvements within previous roles.
Aptitude and Abilities Skills
- Flexible approach to work
- Shows skills working within a team but also ability to work autonomously
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Proactive approach to working and problems.
- Welsh Language Skills (Level 3 and above/B2) are Desirable for this Role.
