Job Responsibilities
- Cover wards, outpatients, speciality referrals and ward rounds
- Stand general medical on-call duties
- Participate in the on-call rota
- Support and mentor junior team members (FY1, FY2, IMT, ACCS, SpR, nurse practitioners, AHPs)
- Manage patient care, partake in decision-making and joint management plans
- Contribute to and develop evidence-based guidelines, ensuring they are signed, dated and reviewed bi-annually or more frequently with new evidence
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, patient and family to provide appropriate care models
- Assist in the production and review of referenced, evidence-based guidelines
- Support the delivery of high-quality service within departmental policies and procedures
Person Specification
Experience
- Completion of Core Medical Training, IMT training or equivalent
- Completion of IMT1-2 or evidence of Certificate of CMT competencies
- Substantive SpR or senior SHO experience in General Medicine in the UK
Knowledge
- Familiarity with the NHS system in the UK
- Experience as a middle-grade doctor in the UK
Qualifications
- Full registration with the GMC
- MBBS
- Advanced Life Support Certification
