An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced secretary to join our small, friendly, secretarial team within the Children's Centre in the Princess of Wales Hospital. In this role, you will provide comprehensive secretarial support to the consultants, associate specialists, and other allied health professionals. We seek a candidate who can work independently, collaborate effectively with others, and take initiative when needed. The ideal candidate will have excellent IT and typing skills, alongside a passion for delivering high-quality customer care.
Main duties of the job include:
- Providing confidential and comprehensive secretarial service to the consultant and associated team within the consultant's speciality.
- Ensuring efficient and accurate typing skills are performed and that timely communication is carried out to allow the patients to experience a smooth journey at all times.
- Ensuring high standard of secretarial and administration service to enable the effective use of the Consultant and his/her Team's time.
- Working independently and as part of a team, managing work rather than being supervised.
- Using own initiative when dealing with enquiries or problem solving.

- Previous Medical Secretarial Experience
- Experience of working with multi-disciplined colleagues in a busy environment
- Experience of working in hospital environment
- RSA/OCR III in work processing or equivalent experience and good standard of education
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of full range of secretarial procedures
- Knowledge of Health Board IT systems
- Knowledge of full range of secretarial and office procedures
- Ability to use an audio type back system
