This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic motivated leader to apply for the Superintendent Site Lead Radiographer position in Radiology, at the Princess of Wales Hospital. You will be responsible for the day to day running of the imaging department. The post holder will be a senior member of staff reporting to the Head of Radiography, and will contribute to the success of the Radiology service as a whole, undertaking CTMUHB wide activities as and when required.
Main duties of the job:- Ensure the highest and equitable standards of quality, patient safety and clinical governance are adhered to ensuring there is a high standard of clinical care delivered to all patients at a local level.
- To act as the lead specialist radiographer for a designated area providing highly specialist radiographic services.
- Responsible for direct line management of the area/section Leads working within the department and for establishing and maintaining effective structures and systems of control for the management of staff, including recruitment, appraisal, development and support of the organisational HR policies and procedures.
- Responsible for equipment and asset management within your area.
- Responsible for regulatory compliance for your area.
- Authorised signatory for delegated budget.

The Radiology Directorate has a well-established Governance Agenda which includes modality user Group Meetings on a quarterly basis. The aim of the user groups is to improve our patient centered service by encouraging collaborative working, discussing service/patient concerns, reviewing training strategies, reviewing/updating knowledge of relevant Policy, Procedure and Protocol and contributing to the Audit and Clinical Effectiveness agenda.
Person Specification:Qualifications and Knowledge:
- BSc in Radiography or equivalent
- Post-graduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound or equivalent
- HCPC Registration
- MSc level education (or equivalent experience) in relevant subject area.
- Post graduate management qualification in leadership and management.
- Demonstrate knowledge of national human resource (HR) processes, guidelines and policies, including staff appraisal and staff development frameworks.
Experience:
- Relevant personal history of continual development
- Experience of supervising/managing and training sonographers and trainee sonographers at Masters level
- Experience of advanced ultrasound clinical practice e.g. MSK, vascular, interventional
- Counselling skills
Aptitude and Abilities:
- Ability to liaise competently with Stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds
- Experience of audit and research
- Teaching and presentation skills with experience of mentoring students
- Assertive. Ability to make decisions
- Ability to meet deadlines, establishing priorities
- Highly motivated and with the ability to motivate others
- Assist and contribute to improving service developments in both general and interventional
