An opportunity has arisen for suitably qualified and experienced Registered Nurses to join the District Nursing Service. The applicant must be a Registered Nurse, be confident and competent in a wide range of clinical skills and demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development. There is a requirement for a flexible approach to work and an ability to travel between sites in a timely manner.

Main duties of the job:

  • There are multiple demands in this exciting role due to the challenging nature of providing care for patients outside of the hospital environment.
  • The post-holder will find themselves well supported by a very friendly and enthusiastic team of staff.

Welsh Skills Desirable:

This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn’t need to have skills in Welsh, we’ll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t "fluency", just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.

Person Specification:

  • Registration: Live UK NMC registration
  • Experience: RGN Experience, Community Experience, Use of evidence based practice / research, Experience of working with Primary & Community Services, Experience in District Nursing
  • Competence and confidence: in a wide range of clinical skills including palliative care, chronic disease management and wound management
  • Skills: Welsh Language Skills (Level 3 and above/B2) are Desirable for this Role
