We have a number of exciting opportunities for enthusiastic, passionate and committed pharmacists to support our pharmacy services across CTMUHB.
In these stimulating roles you will work closely with, and be supported by, highly skilled and experienced pharmacy teams. Roles will follow a rotational programme across the CTMUHB footprint to build your clinical knowledge and experience different specialities. Successful candidates will be based at one site to contribute to on call rotas. All posts come with formal development opportunities which may include the HEIW Post registration Foundation qualification or a distance learning diploma. Preferences can be discussed at interview.
We welcome applications from newly qualified pharmacists registering in Jan 2026 or experienced pharmacists ready for a new challenge. Pharmacy in CTMUHB has a strong culture of learning and development with a focus on support and wellbeing. We work collaboratively across all sectors of pharmacy as ONE team. All sites have established medicines management services and electronic discharge systems. Digital solutions for prescribing and managing medicines are due to be implemented. Pharmacists led clinics are well established and pharmacy staff are valued members of clinical multidisciplinary teams.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will provide a safe and effective clinical pharmacy and ward-based medicines management service to clinical area(s) and advise medical staff and nurses on pharmacy matters. Rotations are health board wide and could include, medicine, admissions, surgery, trauma & orthopaedics, frailty, palliative care, primary care and prison services. The post holder must comply with current legislation and UHB policies. The recommendations contained within the Code of Ethics as issued by the General Pharmaceutical Council and the obligations in the Standards of Good Professional Practice will be upheld at all times.
We want to build your network, so we expect all these posts to start together on the 1st February 2026. If you have prior commitments, please discuss this at interview. The post holder will be expected to undertake post-graduation development as identified by service and post holder needs.

This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn’t need to have skills in Welsh, we’ll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t fluency, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. Person Specification- Qualifications: Vocational Master’s Degree in Pharmacy
- Registered with GPhC
- Evidence of CPD
- Member or RPS
- Experience: 1 year Trainee Pharmacist Program completion
- Experience of Audit/Project work
- Hospital Pharmacy Experience
- Personal Qualities: Evidence of Team Working and independent working
- Positive attitude towards development (self and service)
- Able to work independently
- Enthusiastic and motivated
- Flexible and adaptable to the service
- Responsible for own actions
