An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Urology Nurse Practitioner to join our dedicated Urology team at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board. The post holder will work towards becoming a clinical expert, acquiring specialist knowledge and credibility through direct clinical practice, training and support from the Senior Urology Nursing team across Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.
Welsh Skills Desirable: Welsh language speaking and listening skills at Level 3 or above (equivalent to CEFR B2).
Main duties of the job:
- The successful candidate will be required to work at various sites across the health board in order to meet the needs of the service. The Urology department is currently run across 3 sites: Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend.
- In collaboration with the Consultant Urological Surgeons and the Urology Nurse Practitioners, the post holder will aid in providing a comprehensive urological service for the patients within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board catchment area.
- Provide highly developed specialist knowledge and skills within Urological Nursing to the multi-disciplinary team.
- Provide advice and support to patients and their families.
- Organise and deliver clinical provision of Urological services across CTMUHB.
- Manage own caseload autonomously without direct supervision, making decisions on care based on own interpretation, analysis and options available.
- Provide specialist training and education.
- Develop and aid in the implementation of policies, procedures and protocols.
- Plan, manage and facilitate nurse-led clinics.
- Deputise for all Nurse Practitioners for Urology as and when required in their absence.
Qualifications:
- NMC registered Nurse
- Degree in Nursing, or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience.
- Master's Degree or working towards
- Supplementary/Independent prescribing qualification or working towards
- Counselling qualification
Experience:
- Appropriate and demonstrable experience in Urology clinical practice
- Previous experience at Band 6
- Previous experience of change management and problem solving
