The Emergency Department (ED) is a small-medium friendly department seeing approximately 64,000 adult and paediatric patients per year. The post is fixed term for 6–12 months, a suitable start date can be agreed. RGH ED has recently made significant changes in response to Health Board changes. We are a Major Trauma Unit, Stroke Unit and have recently opened our dedicated paediatric area. This post is fixed term due to limited funding. Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job:
- Key duties include the examination, investigation, treatment and referral (as appropriate) of patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
- To attend safety huddles and handover.
- To ensure IT patient information system is kept up to date.
- To ensure good communication with the Nurse in charge.
- To ensure that you take appropriate breaks.
- To participate in departmental teaching and audit programme.
