We are looking to recruit a Healthcare Science Support Worker (Echocardiography) to join our busy Echocardiography team. This role is essential to the delivery of a safe, high‐quality cardiac diagnostic service for both inpatients and outpatients.

Responsibilities

  • The post holder will work under the supervision of registered Cardiac Physiologists and will support the smooth running of echocardiography clinics and inpatient activity.
  • Preparing patients and equipment, assisting with patient positioning and manual handling.
  • Undertaking basic observations, supporting patient dignity and comfort.
  • Ensuring clinics operate efficiently, including stock control, equipment checks, data collection and general departmental housekeeping.
  • Administrative / clerical tasks, portering, patient manoeuvring and basic patient support as required.

This post is fixed‐term/secondment for 12 months. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Knowledge of routine healthcare science duties acquired through job training and induction.
  • Level 2 vocational qualification / Basic life support skills / manual handling.
  • Relevant experience working in a caring environment.
  • Use of hospital IT systems.
  • Demonstrated range of communication skills across a range of patients in a compassionate way.
  • Welsh Language Skills (Level 3 and above/B2) are desirable.
