The main duties will include supporting health colleagues with delivering continuing health care packages in the community. These tasks will involve direct and indirect care for the benefit of the patient/client in accordance with agreed protocols, and include basic care duties such as:
- Enabling patients to maintain personal hygiene through assistance with shower/bath, washing facilities access and use of toilet facilities; promoting independence where possible.
- Enabling patients to eat and drink, assisting where appropriate.
- Keeping up to date with mandatory training requirements.
- Maintaining a good standard of infection control procedures, in accordance with organisational policies.

An opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Support Worker to join the team of experienced nurses working on ward 3 in the Royal Glamorgan Hospital. We are looking for HCSW with the relevant skills, a caring attitude and individuals who strive to provide high standards of care to all patients.
You will have the opportunity to develop your skills, under the supervision of qualified nurses, caring for patients who are acutely ill with medical conditions. Experience within the specialty of Medicine is desirable but not essential. The post is rotational between day and night duty.
