Overview
AMU and ward 4 are looking for an enthusiastic health care support worker who wants to make a difference. The successful candidates will be responsible for assisting the qualified nurses to meet the basic nursing needs of the patients in their care, as well as working from their own initiative and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment.
Responsibilities
- Meeting patients\’ hygiene and toileting needs
- Serving meals and assisting patients to eat and drink
- Taking and recording vital observations
- Maintaining good levels of stock and PPE
- Assisting with wound dressings
- Disposing of hazardous waste safely and correctly
- Documenting in patients notes
Qualifications and Skills
- Outstanding communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team with fellow HCSWs, physician9s assistants, qualified nurses and nurse practitioners, junior Doctors and consultants
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy
- Previous hospital/acute setting experience is beneficial, but applications from those without hospital care experience are accepted
