An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic individual to lead the Fluoroscopy and Cardiology services at the Princess of Wales Hospital. The Princess of Wales Hospital houses 2 Fluoroscopy suites and a Cardiology suite. The Fluoroscopy rooms are equipped with a Siemens Axiom Artis and a Axiom Artis ZeeMP. The Cardiology suite is equipped with a Philips AlluraClarity. A wide range of procedures are performed within these suites to include general fluoroscopy studies, gastrointestinal and genitourinary interventions, and MSK. The Cardiology suite provides services for diagnostic studies, complex device implants and will be providing PCI in the near future.

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board hosts the National Imaging Academy Wales which provides excellent future development opportunities for staff. We actively support monthly internal CPD meetings, regularly support external training for staff and are keen to develop professionals. There is a requirement to design and implement protocols, procedures and standards relative to the Fluoroscopy Service, Clinical Audit and Radiation Protection Supervisor roles and deliver presentations to the Radiology team when necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Operational management of the Fluoroscopy suites and the radiographic aspects of the Cardiology suite.
  • Ongoing formulation and implementation of major changes to the service utilising highly developed clinical knowledge and communication skills.
  • Act as the Lead Clinical Audit Radiographer supporting the Radiology team to perform, analyse and present audit findings either informally, at focus groups/team meetings, or formally at the Directorate's Clinical Audit meetings.
  • Act as the Lead Radiation Protection Supervisor being responsible for developing and reviewing IRR policies and supporting Radiation Protection Supervisors employed at the Princess of Wales Hospital.
