Responsibilities
- The post holder will be required to carry out a range of assigned tasks involving direct and indirect care for the benefit of the patient/client in accordance with agreed protocols.
- Provide leadership, mentorship and support and act as a role model to the team.
- The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all relevant policies and procedures are adhered to, and staff within the Emergency Department (ED) meet the UHB requirements outlined in the Health and Safety Policy.
- The post holder will support the Senior Nurse to provide line management, clinical and professional leadership, advice and support to nurses within the ED and ensure the highest standard of nursing care is delivered to patients attending the ED.
- The post holder will have a continuing responsibility for the management and delivery of a highly specialised service.
- They will assist the Senior Nurse in developing systems and processes to monitor:
- Quality of care.
- Adherence to UHB policies and procedures.
- Clinical practice.
This role is located in the Emergency Department at Princess of Wales hospital, which is a busy department within a large District General Hospital. The unit consists of a dedicated paediatric unit, minor injuries unit, major injuries unit and an adult and paediatric resuscitation area.
