Job Overview

The post holder will be based at Ysbyty Cwm Cynon, Mountain Ash however will be required to work across other health authority sites, and will be required to work in a variety of community settings: clinic, schools, nurseries, client's homes. The post holder will manage a complex and varied caseload, assessing, identifying, planning and providing highly specialist occupational therapy (OT) interventions for children with disabilities/developmental problems. The post holder will implement the treatment plan with autonomy; taking sole responsibility for the patient's safety when undertaking home visits/school and community work, and maintain clinical records in accordance with legal requirements and professional standards. The post holder will provide leadership for junior staff, support staff and contribute to their development, as a delegated supervisor and regularly supervise OT students on practice placement. They will work in partnership across the primary/secondary care interface with voluntary organisations, local authority and other appropriate health and social care sectors.

Location & Context

The post will offer you the opportunity to continue to develop your skills in a range of assessment and intervention with children and young people within the Cwm Taf Morgannwg population. The post holder will be based at the Children Centre, Princess Of Wales Hospital, however will have opportunity to work across our other sites delivering robust intervention to a complex and varied caseload.
