The Art Psychotherapist will work with staff, patients and their families to provide a range of clinical duties including assessments, interventions, evaluations, consultation, supervision, teaching and training within our service.

Responsibilities

  • Work as a high‑level clinician, providing Specialist Arts Psychotherapy assessments and treatment to adults with a range of psychological and emotional disorders in mental health inpatient unscheduled care services.
  • Provide expertise in all aspects of Arts Psychotherapy to patients, carers and significant others.
  • Contribute to the provision of the Psychological Therapy Services within adult mental health inpatient unscheduled care services.
  • Work as part of the multidisciplinary team, carrying a caseload of patients.
  • Receive regular supervision in line with Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB) policies and be responsible for management of own caseload, ensuring high standards of care in line with CTMUHB policies and professional codes of practice.
  • Provide supervision and consultancy to other mental health professionals and be involved in the development of Psychological Therapy provision within the locality as appropriate.
  • Provide supervision for Art Psychotherapy trainees on placement from the University of South Wales and maintain placement relationships with the university.
