Ty Llidiard is a 15 bedded tier 4 General Adolescent Mental Health Unit with a high care ward, serving the population of South Wales. The unit has a full multi-disciplinary team, with a range of medical, nursing and therapeutic posts. The unit assesses and works with young people between the ages of 12 and 18 who live in South, Mid and West Wales who are experiencing psychiatric disorders such as anorexia nervosa, clinical depression, self-harming behaviours and early onset psychosis. The successful applicant will work as part of a large multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of care and treatment for children and young people.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a new Occupational Therapy Team within Ty Llidiard, ensuring delivery of an evidence‑based, occupationally focussed specialist assessment and intervention service.
  • Provide 1:1 sessions and group work on the unit and within the community.
  • Facilitate environmental and sensory adaptation strategies to support inclusion and engagement.
  • Deliver evidence‑based assessments and interventions, using assessment outcomes to inform intervention plans, identify strengths and adaptive strategies, support recovery, facilitate early discharge and identify post‑discharge support needs.

Qualifications

  • Motivated, dynamic, inspirational, suitably qualified and passionate about working with young people experiencing a range of mental health issues.
  • Welsh skills desirable: Level 3 Speaking/Listening (or ‘B1’ Level if you’ve learnt Welsh as an adult). Simple conversations with patients are sufficient.
