An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our urology team. The role requires work across the four pillars of Advanced Practice: clinical management, leadership, education, and research.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical management of patients: autonomous assessment, investigation, diagnosis and management, including non-medical independent prescribing.
  • Leadership: lead on service developments, implement change processes, and provide clinical leadership to MDT members.
  • Education: provide education, mentorship and support to a wide multi-professional audience; maintain an ongoing live portfolio of advanced practice activities.
  • Research: demonstrate the use of evidence-based practice and involvement in projects (QIP/Audit).
  • Clinical role across acute and outpatient settings, including assessment in the emergency department, ward referrals, and outpatient clinics/diagnostics, covering urology services across the CTM HB.
  • Maintain a portfolio of AP to demonstrate the four pillars of advanced practice.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Open to fully trained ACPs from multi-professional backgrounds; may consider those requiring full ACP training with Annex 21 applied to the post.
  • Welsh language: Desirable but not essential. Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) Speaking & Listening for basic patient conversations. This is an advantage in shortlisting and selection.
  • Scope of practice will be developed to support the successful candidate outlining nuances of the ACP role within this specialty.
  • Sponsorship: Applicants who are not UK or ROI nationals will require sponsorship for Health and Care Visa or Skilled Worker Visa, unless they hold another eligible work authorization. Review eligibility at the UK Government guidance.
  • Provisions: all posts are subject to checks including Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and professional registration verification where required.
