An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated safeguarding professional to join Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board as Senior Nurse Safeguarding and Public Protection (Band 8a). This senior leadership role provides expert advice, guidance and operational oversight to support the Health Board in meeting its statutory responsibilities across the full safeguarding and public protection agenda.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop safeguarding services across children’s safeguarding, adults at risk, looked‑after children, domestic abuse, MAPPA, MARAC, Prevent and wider public protection.
  • Support high standards of governance, assurance, partnership working and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day management of the Corporate Safeguarding Team, Multi‑agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) and Children Looked After team (CLA).
  • Deliver training, audit, policy implementation and service development.
  • Provide line management of the Safeguarding Specialists and Administration Team within the Corporate Safeguarding Team.
  • Ensure the Health Board discharges its statutory obligations and responsibilities under all relevant legislation for Safeguarding and Public Protection.
  • Maintain effective arrangements for regular review, monitoring and continuous improvement to support high standards of Safeguarding practice.
